Yorkshire Mesmac
The BEAR community proudly donated to Yorkshire MESMAC, one of the oldest and largest sexual health organisations in the United Kingdom.
Yorkshire MESMAC provides vital sexual health services, education, and support programs across Yorkshire, helping a wide range of communities including men who have sex with men, LGBTQ+ individuals, people of colour, sex workers, people experiencing substance misuse, and young people and adults seeking support.
Through health promotion, testing services, and community outreach, Yorkshire MESMAC plays an essential role in improving sexual health awareness and wellbeing for LGBTQ+ communities across the UK.
Street Angels UK
The BEAR community is passionate about raising money for charities that make a real difference. One of the organisations we have proudly supported is Street Angels UK, an LGBTQ+ charity based in Blackpool.
Street Angels UK provides a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment for members of the LGBTQ+ community, helping individuals build confidence, self-esteem, and personal aspirations.
Their work focuses on supporting people facing homelessness, poverty, domestic violence, housing difficulties, and other challenging life circumstances.
Street Angels UK has also attended our Big BEAR Weekend in Blackpool for the past two years, helping strengthen connections between the charity and the wider bear community.
Birmingham LGBT
During our Reunion Social Night at Eden Bar in Birmingham, the BEAR community organised a charity raffle that raised funds for Birmingham LGBT, a leading LGBTQ+ support organisation.
Our donation was equivalent to three hours of professional counselling for individuals unable to afford LGBTQ+-affirmative therapy, or six hours of meeting space for Birmingham LGBT’s trans and non-binary youth group.
In today’s social climate, access to safe spaces and affirming support can be transformational for young people.
Birmingham LGBT provides a wide range of LGBTQ+ support services across Birmingham and the West Midlands.
